Nat & Chris from Byron Bay needed to replace their existing patio awning that had deteriorated over time. Having an alfresco area overlooking their beautiful pool was the ultimate dream, but the old patio roof was not conducive to entertaining.
The existing painted treated pine structure was old, weathered and unattractive. It was also very hot in the Byron Bay summers. After spending an enjoyable time swimming and cooling down, it was then too hot to sit and relax in this area.
The existing roof was tired and old. As with a lot of treated pine gazebos, the paint starts to peel and the wood starts to stain. The structure is also very heavy, creating a closed in feeling.
Atlas Awnings proposed an insulated fly over patio awning which would suit their needs.
The new patio roof was built on steel posts and concrete footings, all supplied and installed by Atlas Awnings. The clean and stylish construction added a much more modern feel to the outdoor area, with matching colourbond guttering finishing off the look.
The new insulated flyover patio roof is much lighter and brighter, adding a clean modern feel to the alfresco area.
The before and after photos also show the benefits of the flyover brackets that were used to attach the patio roof. The extra height gave a much more spacious feel, increasing the view and usable height of the entertaining area. This allowed for the installation of a patio roof fan, making the alfresco area cooler, increasing airflow around as this side of the house that was protected from breezes.
The new outdoor entertaining area is a complete, spacious patio covered from sun and rain. The extra height also allows more airflow and an addition of a fan. A beautiful modern place to relax in summer.
