Phil & Joan from Ballina had recently completed some renovations to the inside of the home and wanted a cover and extension of the patio area. The existing alfresco area had a nice modern look, but was a little small and prone to weather. Their goal was to increase the usable space, therefore having much more room to entertain outdoors.
The existing patio area was small, and open to the elements. The patio was also isolated, disconnected from the entrance.
They called Atlas Awnings and our Design Consultant, Geoff, visited the site. After discussions with Phil he explained an insulated gabled patio awning would blend into the existing house design & best suit their needs. The colour of home was considered, as was the roof and guttering. Atlas Awnings always aims to make sure any extension matches the existing design as much as possible. All care is taken to compliment the style and décor of the existing house.
To keep in-line with the existing structure wooden merbau posts were used. The gabled, insulated roof would keep the area cooler in the hot summers and enable Down lighting and fan to be installed in the patio area.
The new merbau deck has created a stylish alfresco area, which connects the different areas of the house, creating a complete living space.
The clean lines also the ceiling of Insulated roof matched the interior of the original patio creating one large seamless entertainment area. The beautiful Merbau post & decking complemented the slate tile decking , but also gave the outdoors look and feel that works well with open plan alfresco areas.
Home improvements and extensions like this are what we do best, so Atlas Awnings also took all the worries and care of the Engineering and Council Approval requirements. This left Phil & Joan time to enjoy the first stage of his home improvement while Atlas worked on the project from concept to completion.
The finished gabled patio roof matched the original decor, and provided a large, open space for entertaining.
