Jason and Marika from Casino wanted to replace the existing verandah with a new room without losing their amazing view. The existing verandah looked out at the beautiful Casino countryside and wanted to leave this as unobstructed as possible.The Casino climate is prone to hot summers and cold winters, so the new patio area needed to account for this. Insulation was a priority, as was an option to close off from the cool winter nights and allow breeze in the hot summer afternoons.
The existing verandah was open to the weather, had very little insulation and no protection from the Australian biting insect population.
So they gave Atlas Awnings a call.
The existing verandah was a traditional Australian outdoor area, with corrugated iron roof and a concrete slab as the base. Geoff from Atlas recommended the concrete deck be upgraded and extended to make the room larger. This made it possible for the ideal extension to be installed, a glass enclosed room with invisigard security screens.
To keep the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter an insulated patio awning was recommended for the roof. This was held up by aluminium posts, matching the glass panels.
Geoff also noted that the existing guttering should be replaced to ensure the new room would not leak. All removal of the existing gutter was handled by Atlas.
The new patio glass enclosure had 4 x LED lights installed to increase the hours they could spend in the alfresco area. The Invisigard security screens also allowed the breeze to flow through, while maintaining peace of mind knowing the patio was securely locked.
This new enclosed room would allow Jason and Marika to use this area in comfort, day and night not having to wait for the weather to be just right to relax and enjoy their surrounds.
